Frequently Asked Questions

With whom can my team share information?

With GrandView you can share information with your internal team, customers or any relevant third party you deem necessary. Just enter their names in the database and GrandView will establish an account for them complete with a password.

Can my team control who can view or modify information?

Yes. Project managers can specify and control permissions for which individuals can view, modify, add or delete information. They can also control access to file upload and download capabilities.

How can GrandView keep everyone informed and up-to-date?

To promote greater workflow, communication and collaboration, all team members will be alerted upon GrandView log-in or via email if they prefer of status changes, schedule updates or any other facet of the project. By clicking on the alarm icon, they will be taken to the specific area that needs their attention or acknowledgement.

Does GrandView integrate with other software packages?

Generally, GrandView does not need to integrate with or duplicate other software functions. GrandView does offer import and export capabilities if you need to exchange data. If you have a specific integration need, ask your GrandView sales representative about the possibilities and potential cost.

How quickly can I get started with GrandView?

Initial setup of your account takes only minutes. Population of your database with projects, contacts, employees, etc., takes as long as you want it to take. We help you get your database populated and configured according to how your business operates. The Project Configuration Wizard steps you through the process of setting up a each project quickly and easily. Some clients have been operational within a day.

Is GrandView an accounting package?

No. GrandView was not designed to be an accounting package and does not have a general ledger function. However, you can use Grandview for purchasing, invoicing and financial analysis. Some of our clients find they can forego investing in a new accounting system because the financial information they need (that the old accounting system can't give them) is available through GrandView.

If you choose to use GrandView's Financial features, you get a birds-eye view of your projects or projects, business unit or units and your business as a whole. You can track, review and analyze proposals, orders, invoices, purchases, expenses, labor cost and more at the touch of a button. You can also review monthly and quarterly numbers for sales proposals, orders, purchases, expenses and invoices.

What hardware and software do I need to buy?

You don't need to buy any hardware or software. You simply need a web browser and Internet connection to log in to your GrandView account any time from anywhere. There's no need to worry about upgrading computers or maintaining additional hardware. There's also no need to worry about backing up data because we do that for you—onsite and offsite.

How secure is my data?

As secure as if you're using an ATM money machine. GrandView uses 128-bit encryption and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Your GrandView information is protected against unauthorized access by:

  • Password protected access to your projects
  • Encrypted passwords
  • SSL-encrypted communication between our servers and your IT system
  • Encryption of all data stored in GrandView
  • Secure database server
Can I host GrandView at my site if I want to?

Yes. You can host GrandView locally through a purchase arrangement or monthly software lease (see Pricing section). Click here to view the current requirements to host GrandView at your site.

Can anyone else look at my data?

No other GrandView client has access to your data. Your project data can be accessed only by you and the people with whom you choose to work. Your information is protected against unauthorized access by password, encryption and a secure database server.
